The UK Trade & Investment team in Zagreb decided that in amongst all the talk of economic crisis and negative GDP growth in Croatia there should be something positive; so they organised a reception on 23 September at the Ambassador’s residence with a very simple aim; for guests to establish new contacts and socialise with those they know.  The evening was an enjoyable mix of business and pleasure and new business deals were discussed.

Over 100 guests, including the Mayor of Split, drawn from those active in trade, commerce and the economy attended and were able to enjoy drinks on the Residence lawn in late summer sunshine.

Every UK registered company known to the UKTI team was invited, and were appreciative of the opportunity to meet with so many potential Croatian contacts.

The Ambassador addressed the guests, emphasising that trade was one proven way of countries recovering from economic crisis.  It was also an opportunity for the Embassy to promote its work on low carbon initiatives.
