Croatian PM Dr Ivo Sanader and FS David Miliband had the opportunity to meet in the margins of the UN Security Council session on Zimbabwe in New York on 15th December 2008.

After their meeting, Foreign Secretary David Miliband said: "I talked with the Croatian Prime Minister about his role over the next few days as President of the Security Council and his important responsibilities there. We also talked about Croatia`s European vocation. The UK is committed to continue to ensure there's an open door on the part of the European Union. We are also looking to the Croatian Government to fulfil all of their responsibilities in respect of the enlargement agenda."
